Benno Brinkhaus, MD
Benno Brinkhaus, MD is Professor of Internal Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology. He is currently Head of the project division for Complementary and Integrative Medicine (CIM), head of the outpatient clinic for integrative medicine, and as well as Deputy Head of the Institute for Social Medicine, Epidemiology and Health Economics, Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. He is founding member of the European Society for Integrative Medicine and was the past ESIM president from 2019-2023.
From 1994-2001, Prof. Brinkhaus worked as a physician and a research associate in the Medical Department I, Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany and was head of the department of complementary medicine between 1995-2001. He has been at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany since 2001, where he is the principal investigator of several projects including more than 50 RCTs in the field of Complementary and Integrative Medicine (CM). In addition, he is the director of the Charité outpatient clinic for Integrative Medicine and Prevention.
